My First Website — Finally Fully Responsive

After working through the books, I wanted to build something of my own — not copy along, but start with a blank file and make the decisions myself. That was this project.

The biggest milestone here was making it fully responsive for the first time. I spent hours with media queries, learning how a layout adapts gracefully to different screen sizes instead of falling apart the moment the viewport changes. This was also the first time the difference between a mobile-first and a desktop-first approach became clear to me — and why it matters.

The design won't win any awards, and I'm at peace with that. But the site had a few small UX details I was genuinely proud of at the time: smooth scrolling, thoughtful spacing, and a navigation that actually worked on mobile.

Above all, it proved to me that I can take an idea and bring it to life with nothing but plain HTML and CSS — and have a lot of fun doing it.
